I met Anela and Malie years ago on my sister's volleyball trip to Florida. I never imagined photography would reunite us years later. It was so nice to see these two together; Malie is a rising senior and Anela is beginning her second year at a university! These two are ready to conquer the world!
When Elliott told Michael and I he had a ring and was planning on proposing to his girlfriend Sera on their trip to Hawaii, I was PUMPED! I cannot tell you how excited I was to be part of their special day. We decided that Michael would take him and Sera on a sunrise hike, where I would already be hiding in the bushes to capture the moment he got down on one knee. When the day finally came, everything went perfectly! The look on Sera's face was absolutely priceless and I am so excited for their future.
Soon after the proposal was their engagement session. Aside from the perfect weather and beautiful sunset, Sera and Elliott were the perfect subjects. Their sweet session left me smiling for days! So honored to be part of their love journey.
I had the pleasure of photographing Charlene for her 20th birthday. The weather forecast was rainy, but it hardly rained a drop! Instead clouds covered the sky, creating the perfect lighting and beautiful backdrop for the session. I graduated with Charlene and hadn't seen her since the day, so it was so nice to catch up and see her thriving.
I had the privilege of snapping photos for the sweetest family! They were having a little family day at the beach and their other baby was sound asleep on their mat. I guess I was in the right place at the right time because they wanted some family photos in the perfect pre-sunset lighting. How lucky was I to be able to capture some sweet moments for the most beautiful family!
I had the pleasure of shooting this sweet couple to capture them together before Erin went off to the mainland for nursing. I know the pain of long distance so I was honored to take some pictures for them to print and have to savor the memory. The weather was bipolar but it was no match for Erin and Shawn!
To say that this shoot was amazing would be an understatement. The sunlight was downright perfect, the couple was beautiful and fun, and the location was absolutely stunning. This was the kind of session that transports me into another world. This is one of the main reasons I love shooting couples. Seeing two people so happy and in love makes me forget there is imperfection in the world and for a moment I am able to sit in complete happiness. Thanks to these two lovebirds for making this shoot more than amazing.
I was so excited to shoot Lauren and Mauloa in the sunrise at Diamond Head because look at them! I swear, they need to be on a magazine cover! I thoroughly enjoyed capturing their affection and even discovering a cactus garden in the middle of one of Hawaii's community colleges. It was such an amazing photoshoot.
This session took place along a long, rustic trail to the beach, which is now one of my favorite locations on the island! It's amazing how many wonderful photoshoot locations you can find when you look carefully. Even though the sky was overcast, and the sun was hidden amongst all the clouds, this shoot was beautiful. I have known Karli for years, so when she asked me to take photos of her and Mel, I was so ready! It was so fun frolicking along the path with these two and getting to know them together.
My first couples shoot this summer could not have gone better! Although the wind was working against us, we missed golden hour by a hair, and Ken's pants were soaked by the end of the session, the cute moments shared between Jade and Ken made it a success.
I grew up with Jade. Our moms are best friends, so we saw each other through every chapter of our lives. We had countless playdates, sleepovers, and study sessions with each other growing up, and even though we didn't realize it until high school, we are like sisters to each other. After going our separate ways in college and not seeing each other for two years, witnessing her happiness with Ken was touching and having the privilege to capture some of it was an honor. Happiness is definitely contagious.
